Wholeness To Flourish Where You Are

DONT WORRY (PART TWO)

MATTHEW 6:28-34

28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,

We worry about minor things and big things, whilst the word is assuring us that the fields grow and produce harvest in set times and it’s not like they can work to make it grow itself, they aren’t humans but are taken care of by humans and these same humans - you and I shouldn’t need to worry about what we wear because God will never make us go without, but will always make sure we have in abundance and are taken care of. That is beyond satisfying and assuring and a truth we must all hold onto. So as hard as it may be take the step not let worry consume you any longer – pray and release all to God to help you.

29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

God cares for us more than we could ever imagine and so when things try to consume us and shake our faith, we can have the tendency to forget all this and act out the worry in our actions and how we treat others. But when we worry for tomorrow and question His care and love we are also showing that we have little faith in Him to perform what He said He will do.

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

WORRY NEW .jpg

The word is saying to not worry about the external factors, but that God has it all under control. How beautiful it is to know that He assures us and also shows us the way to go.

We have Him and unbelievers don’t, so when they complain and question life, we shouldn’t entertain that way of living too and questions things because of who our Heavenly Father is. To supply all our needs according to His riches in glory and the beauty is He knows it all, there is nothing hidden from Him. All that we need He provides.

Unbelievers have negative thoughts and never ending questions and doubt in their circumstances, the moment we think and act like them we are doubting God and taking Him away from the circumstance and encouraging room to sin and do things the short cut way.

33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

WORRY NEW2.png

The requirement is to seek the kingdom of God first and all other things that we need will be added unto us, He has us so we shouldn’t worry or question, let your faith rise up and all negative thoughts be scattered. We must follow this with faith and trusting that God has not left us, knows what we need and also says clearly what to seek, and that is not what the unbelievers seek. We should be able to put God first in all we do, in our thoughts, actions, character, day to day – in everything.

Material things and people are all temporary and shouldn’t be made to be priority in our lives, we ought to put God first always and everything else secondary. We can plan things out and be productive, but then to worry and doubt is to waste precious, valuable time.

But we shouldn’t be so consumed in planning to block out the worry, but should rather address it because then that becomes a problem and can interfere with you and God. Don’t let what you focus on and worry about for the next day; affect you in the moment with God. Embrace the moment and don’t rush ahead, He has you and knows what you need.

POINTERS FOR WORRY-

-      PRAY OVER IT AND TAKE STEPS TO OVERCOME IT DAILY

-      Know what the word of God says about you and His promises

-      Do a study on worry and break them down into prayer points

-      Don’t worry over the future, pray over it and leave it to God

-      Build up your faith and let His peace that surpasses all understanding calm you

-      Live in the now and have faith for tomorrow, not worry.

-      Make a list of what you worry over and take it to God

Be blessed and encourage

DO NOT WORRY (PART ONE)

Dear Father,

Thank you for saving us, loving us, protecting us, thank you for all that you have done in our lives up until now. Your peace that surpasses all understanding, comforts me in times of trials and tribulations to know that it is but for a moment. Every tough time isn’t permanent and the same way it has a beginning is the same way it will have an end. I am assured in your presence and will continue on this journey, casting all my cares upon you because you care for us. In your mighty name we pray. Amen

‘DONT LET WORRY OR FEAR, ROB YOU OFF THE GREATNESS IN YOU.’ GOD

Today I will be discussing in this two part series on worry. Many of us can relate to this as times get hard, things don’t go to plan and we can find ourselves worrying for what is ahead, if the current is not going to plan. Forgetting that God has gone ahead of us and has everything under control, we shouldn’t let the things of this world and the flesh dictates to us what to do and how to do it. We must rise up speak to those circumstances and command it to bow, and refuse to let it take our peace.

So what is worry in its simplest form-

‘To think about problems or unpleasant things that might happen in a way that makes you feel unhappy and frightened. To make someone feel unhappy and frightened because of problems or unpleasant things that might happen.’

This definition clearly states the affect of worry, in a negative way, to make you come up with scenarios that may never happen, to make you feel unhappy and when unhappy you cannot produce your best because you are operating from a place of fear and worry. As humans we will worry, that is why Yeshua taught about this in the bible. It was a big enough deal to address to us and why we shouldn’t worry.

We shouldn’t allow worry dictate to us, or make us act hastily to what is before us. We must know that when worry comes we pray over it and ask for God to intervene, rather than act on and make decisions based on worry.

worry.png

I will be using Matthew 6:25-34 as my point of reference in terms of worry.

MATTHEW 6:25-27

In this part of Matthew 6 Yeshua was teaching about worry. That in itself shows us that He knew though we were believers, things in life would happen that would cause us to panic and worry. So His teaching was to redirect our ways to know how to manage the worry when it comes, but not to dwell in it.

As I mentioned before, as imperfect human beings, worry will happen but the word tells us to not become drained by thinking and worrying about our everyday lives. Because God has made sure ahead of time that we will be covered, provided for and watched over.

Food, drink, what we wear all these things shouldn’t be our focus of worry. But to be encouraged to know that our God, who created us, has everything under control and will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. (And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus – Phil 4:19).

Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?’ To me when I read this particular question, I saw it as one of those rhetorical questions that don’t need an answer, but a reflective response to ensure that one has thought and meditated on this enough to know that most of the time, the things we think and dwell on do not need to be thought off and worried over. Because life is more than those things and it is what you don’t see that is permanent.

worry2.jpg

‘Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.’

I wondered why God would link this to birds; this goes to show that every detail God has it covered, from living things to things we see around for daily use, everything is covered in His plans. The birds aren’t like humans to navigate and act like we do in all manner of life, from food to storage etc. But our Father makes provision for them to eat, so why must we question and worry what we eat and day to day?

Don’t let what you see make your faith waiver in God or cause you to be negative, because He is forever in control and not just in good but on the bad days too. There is always something to learn and take away from all this, but it is never to dwell in worry and think that is okay because worrying won’t change anything.

And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

God sees as more valuable and precious in His sight, and so when we know all the above and pray with it, there should be a shift that takes place, to say no to worry and yes to trusting by faith because once God has said it He will surely do it. Why then must we take on the baggage of worrying about something God already knows? and has gone ahead of us to take care of it? We need to be intimate in the word and pray to have the faith and renewed mind to combat what comes our way, in the form of worry and fear, because those are not of God. They are distractions to remove your focus from God to the situation.

Don’t let fear rob you of your joy

CLOSED BIBLE

CLOSED BIBLE

Hello Ladies,

Dear Father,

Thank you for your love, forgiveness, unconditional love, protection and guidance. May the word of God speak to us in all that we do, whether we are feeling weary, whether there are financial battles, sickness, mind battles, little result, confusion etc we leave all in your hands and pray for the zeal and passion to get in the word and speak and act the word in our lives, now and forever more. Amen.

This is a word I have spoken about for some time now and just wanted to share this to encourage someone. The bible- is there to offer and not limited to-

Guidance

Answers

Intimacy with God

Wisdom

Growth

Clarity

Peace

Healing

Forgiveness

Marriage

Business

To know your destiny

Love

And so much more.

So come what may believe in the word to work for you

2 Timothy 3:16 ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness...’

Every word you read in the bible has been God- Breathed and will work in your life with the faith to believe in God and what He says He will do, through you and in your life.

So whatever it is that you are going through, open your bible and find where it speaks of that issue, study it and pray it for it to manifest in your life. Don’t keep your bible closed and complain, but rather keep your bible open, pray and let your faith work for you. God is still in the business of blessing you, healing you and elevating you.

Don’t write yourself off and leave the word of God as the last resort, let it be your go to guide in everything big or small. Because it is this same word that has the power to transform your life, not friends or family.

No one can help you like God can, no one can heal you, perfect all that concerns you and still love you unconditionally. But God!!! So stop running to man and run to God with any problem you may have, to not get caught up in a web of lies, wrong leading and destruction.

Be encouraged and know that God is always there for you and will forever lead you. God bless you.

CONSISTENCY

CONSISTENCY

Dear Father,

We thank you for another blessed day and new week, as you go before us may we follow and be obedient to your instructions, where we will fall short ahead, we ask that you forgive us and straighten our path to do what you have called us to do, despite all the noise, voices and any fears that may creep in. Father regardless of what happens, we pray to be consistent and bold in all we do now and forever more. Amen

Today I want to talk about something that is very close to my heart and that is the importance of consistency. Let’s take it back to basics and look at what it means to be consistent-

‘To be consistent is a quality of condition of doing things with excellence, on time and in accordance with facts. Agreement with what has already been done, or expressed. The conformity with a practice that produces results on time.’

Consistency is very, very important I cannot stress that enough, to be consistent means you are working at a pace that ensures you partner with the Holy Spirit to do all you were created to do in stages, able to reach targets, manage deadlines and produce nothing less of excellence.

Consistency can only happen when you make up your mind to be great and do great, it takes you from a place of little to a lot and it helps you prioritize and put in order things you do day to day to allow yourself to stay on top of everything and not have everything stay on top of you.

When God calls you, He knows what you can manage, He equips you in the area of capacity He knows you are graced to do. He will never dump on you and leave you, and so if in all this God is, has been and always will be consistent. We shouldn’t be inconsistent at all. But rather we must lead by example to have others follow Christ, be encouraged and learn from ways we haven’t always got right, but were willing to work at it and are getting it.

One thing I can relate to is being overwhelmed at times and all that I share, are for those who are in 9-5’s, creative’s, those in ministry, those who work for themselves etc. For me I tend to take time out on Sunday and Monday to plan for the week ahead, make deadlines for that week for things that need to get done and do a mid week self check/ analysis of the week so far and how far I’ve gone. It helps to be able to have things written down and prayed over for the week ahead, to stay on track with things, be consistent and not overwhelmed – although that’s not always possible.

SOME TIPS I WANT TO SHARE ON CONSISTENCY –

-      Pray over everything you do and let God guide you, so that you are not overwhelmed with everything.

-      Take time out on a Sunday evening, to plan out what you need to get done in the week ahead.

-      Have a diary to keep up to date with the deadlines you have to meet.

-      Do checks mid week to see how you are getting on and what you may need to amend to get things done.

-      Always revisit goals and see how you can achieve them, by doing consistent actions that will help you get there.

-      Accountability is also important to make sure what you say you will do, you will do.

Hope this encourages and blesses you to take consistency up a notch in your life. Be blessed

THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION

THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION…

Dear Father,

We thank you for being our Father, loving, forgiving and always there for us to be able to call on in all that we go through. Father I pray that in all things we will learn to go to you first, and not get distracted by the things of this world or others, may we never be led astray by our thoughts and in all things prayer and the word will always be first and never last. Thank you Father for all you do for us, Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day you are there for us always, you have not gone on leave and love us all the same. Thank you Father in your name we pray. Amen.

Learn to delve deeper to get to the root of why you are the way you are, the effect of the past is very important, to not let it affect your ways, going back to old ways and staying in those bad habits.

God has shown me the importance of communication with others and why as relational beings we need to be able to do so, though uncomfortable and hard to take in- reason why I say this is because before I had the mentality that if you don’t call me I won’t call you, if you don’t reach out to meet up I won’t. In the past I have always been the one to reach out regardless and when I wasn’t always getting it back, it hurt and I stopped doing it and just lived with the mentality to put me first and save my time. So when God was showing me this it was difficult to hear as I have always been one way as opposed to reaching out to others whether they do it first or not.

Having that mentality in the past was quite tough to shake off for a while, God just instructed me to not do any work but just to seek Him, refocus and get direction. The main thing He wanted me to understand is that communication is key in the kingdom but many of us do not communicate well and division occurs. Because of the cliques formed many are used to those they are close to and not others outside of that clique, so they stay knowing that once they are close to those people they are comfortable with, that they do not feel the need to interact with others.

God went on to help me understand that when He called me into ministry one of the things I needed to do more of is to show love and support and to communicate with people better. I can’t make it about me all the time. Everyone is going through something and many are battling in secret, so a simple call, text or meet up goes a long way to help a sister or brother in Christ. The moment we became born again all our personal desires and self-ways had to part from us, we no longer made it about us but about those we are called to serve. So it is selfish of me to think about myself and be kept bound by the past experiences.

communication.jpg

 QUESTIONS TO REFLECT ON….

HOW WOULD YOU RATE YOUR COMMUNICATION SKILLS WITH THOSE AROUND YOU?

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH HOW YOU COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS?

DO YOU PRAY OVER THIS AREA AS MUCH AS OTHER AREAS?

Was speaking to a dear sister of mine about this area a while ago and all she said was just confirmation for what God had showed me. One of the main points she highlighted is that relationships are suffering in the kingdom, people need to go back to the basics to build on relationships, what happened to the days where we kept it basic, and cut out all distractions, went for walks, went to each others places to talk, chill and pray. What happened to the days where people actually cared and wanted to genuinely know about your issues, your day and how you are doing? It is like people have jumped from basic level to advanced level in knowing people and all of a sudden you are sisters and best friends. But we are missing out on major parts of communicating to really get to know those we call sisters.

Do we check on people? Do we make time to see them? Do we believe that we are good friends when it comes to communication/ time catching up with others???

There needs to be more transparency, love, support and unity shown, how can we grow together and develop together and do what God has called us to do if we still have this me mentality, closed nature and one not embracing of others and how they feel? Change has to come, not only for our generation but to leave a good example for the upcoming generation. It is important to keep this in mind pray over it and make that change.

This is an area I have heard a few people talk about but another thing it reminds me of is that we are all fast to complain about what is not right but never step out to make that change due to many factors such as fear, doing it alone, people not understanding you name it. But you see you do not need to have the affirmations of man. If you strongly believe change has to come go ahead and make that change, pray over it and let God use you.

One thing the EUW ministry strives to bring is unity amongst us all, there is a lot of work that needs to be done, but change must happen, strong units must be developed and people need to be assured that they are not alone, they do have people around who can pray and encourage them, but not to take it upon themselves to try to do it all alone.

Do not punish yourself because you feel that you will be a burden to someone, pray and let God reveal to you those who you can open up to and will help you. Do not suffer in silence behind the good clothes, make up, nice hair etc. You deserve to be at peace, you deserve to get the strength to defeat those strongholds, you deserve to have joy, you deserve the blessings of the Lord and you deserve to grow and be used to make a change in others’ lives.

prayer.jpg

Here are a few scriptures to do with communication to encourage you –

-JAMES 1:19 ‘My beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.’

  • EPHESIANS 4:29 ‘Let no corrupt commmnication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.’

-PROVERBS 15:2 ‘The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright, but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.’

-PROVERBS 16:23 ‘The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.’

  • PROVERBS 13:17 ‘A wicked messenger falls in mischief but a faithful ambassador is health.’

I WANT TO LEAVE YOU WITH THIS LAST POINT TO PONDER ON… WHEN COMMUNICATING WITH OTHERS, ASK YOURSELF –

  • IS IT TRUE?

  • IS IT KIND?

  • IS IT NECESSARY?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND BE ENCOURAGED.
