Let us pray

Dear Father,

Thank you for everything that you have done for us, thank you for seeing us through all the obstacles, thank you for providing us with what we need, thank you for healing, strength, wisdom, and always providing provision, making ways where there seems to be no way. May we continue to trust in your timing, to be patient in all we do and let the word of God alone be our source and truth in every step that we make. So, help us Father to not get distracted by things we see, what people say or pressure. Help us God in all that we do, in your precious mighty name I pray. Halleluyah.

Welcome to 2017, we thank God, we have entered a new year, I am thankful that I am alive, thankful for being able to do God’s work, for my healing process, having peace, wisdom, growth, learning so much, have amazing people around me, more opportunities on the way and more. Doing what I love, all by His grace, so I ask you what are you thankful for?

I ask that because a lot of us, myself included tend to look at our circumstances and what we do not have, as opposed to looking at the positives and what God has blessed us to have. God will always give us what we need not what we think we need it. We need to align our minds to the word of God and focus on Him alone to see us through in our daily living. Romans 12:2 comes to mind “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

The world will have their view of what we need and how to be famous, how to live the fast life etc, but we are not of the world and how they live, we don’t have their same views, lifestyles and thoughts. It is important for us to position ourselves to what God is saying and not the world and flesh. So, what has your yes and focus? What do you spend more time doing? Think about it and let God reveal to you areas you need to work on and be made aware of.

Let us look at what the word CONTENT means- “To do with being pleased and satisfied (feeling content) or making someone else feel happy and at peace with things (contenting them). “

To be content is to be accepting of your current situation and what you have, to be assured that no condition is permanent and you are an overcomer to do and be great in life, despite what comes your way. It is to be sure of yourself in Christ and whose you are knowing that God alone can and will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Phil 4:19 If the word says God will supply ALL, why do we worry and become anxious when we do not have things, or situations aren’t going our way? It does not make sense to say we trust in God but the moment something happens we doubt and try to get things and change things ourselves? Easier said than done but we must remember to position ourselves to do and be greater in our ways, selfless, and dependant on God alone.

As we have entered the new year there will be those who will want new things, a new job, a partner, a promotion, material things etc you name it. But my question to you is that though there is nothing wrong with wanting things, we are human and have desires. But what is your intention behind wanting those things? Check your heart and actions when you want things and let God do a work in you. He knows what you need and He knows the right time in your life for you to have it. Don’t get drawn into the wants and needs lifestyle, that you turn God into a genie going to Him just for things you think you need and not building on a good relationship with Him. Know your ways and do self-checks to avoid getting distracted by things and people.

Let us break down some of the parts of Phil 4: 10-19

10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

-When you focus on God and give Him thanks He will supply all your needs

-Bring destiny helpers to help support you and in all your ways will always be many steps head guiding you. Let your faith not be shaken based on what your natural eyes show you, be encouraged to know that God is always working things out for your good, and it will manifest in the natural in His timing. ‘Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.’

- When you need, things don’t go to people first, express your needs and concerns to God and He will bless you, involving using people. But it is not with their permission you must seek, but His will to be done in your life. He will open new doors and exceed your expectations.

-God knows your needs before you even voice them to Him so be rest assured you are on His mind and He has not forgotten about you or neglected you. He is the author of our lives, and so it is right to go back to Him when in need of help and guidance for our lives.

- In all circumstances are you able to go through them with a positive attitude? Paul is a perfect example of going through circumstances being content with what he had and what he faced. The powerful thing to know is that we can draw strength from our Father in heaven to help see us through. Rely on God’s promises and His power to be your focus as you go through life don’t let what you don’t have keep you in bondage of negativity and hopelessness. He will always supply our needs in a way that is best for us.

12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

-       I just love Paul, he really was an example of what it means to be totally surrendered to God in the good and bad, he could see life from God’s point of view, he focused on what God expected of Him to do, not feeding into desires of what he felt he needed. Take away an important lesson from Paul, he did not set his sights on the temporary things but rather on the eternal, all things are temporary, so when you set your sights on things, you set yourself up for failure. Because it will become a vicious cycle of always wanting and never being satisfied. Is that life? Any voids go to God and He will fill those voids in your life not man or things. Where are your priorities in life and what or who is your focus?

-       We are able to do all things through Christ who strengthens us, when we draw from Him the strength we need, to live a Godly blessed life. As we contend for our faith in God, there will be many trials and tribulations we face, pressures, setbacks and more but as they come against us we have the assurance of God’s strength in us.

19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

-       Isn’t this beautiful to know? We can trust in God to always meet our needs, we need to remember that whatever we need, He knows and will supply in due time have faith in Him, there are things we want, which He knows aren’t all good for us to have and so He always provides our needs. Over time you will begin to see that your attitudes and appetites can and will change from a place of wanting all that you think you need, to accepting His provision and power to live for Him and Him alone.

Dear Father,

Thank you for your love, kindness and support in all that we do and for showing us the way to live a meaningful life filled with your unmerited favour, good health and the courage to persevere daily. Without you we will all be lost and battered, with no hope, no love and no progression. We will forever praise you and serve you alone in all that we do and pray to locate all that you have for us in life. In your mighty name we pray. Halleluyah

Ecclesiastes 9:11 I saw that under the sun, the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.’

‘That the race is not to the swift’ – To be swift is to do things quickly or promptly, rapidly, instantly, immediately. Either way it is to expect a fast outcome in whatever it is that you do.

BUT the scripture is saying the race is NOT to the swift, so the race to fulfil your destiny is not for those who like to do things swiftly, the race is not for those who feel to get to where they need to be is by rushing. It is a process in itself which should be learnt from. When you rush you are telling God that you do not agree with His timing and want to get things anyway you know how.

Here He is saying that in life there is nothing like a quick process to get to your set time, because what is for you and worthy to have is not to be rushed because the same way you acquired that thing, or person is the same way you can as well lose that thing or person. You didn’t work hard for it so why should you be allowed to keep it??? You get out of life what you put in, put in hard work and flourish, put in no work and don’t complain when the results do not exceed your expectations.

I mentioned earlier the ‘process’, think of a cake there are ingredients that you use to make it, you go and purchase those ingredients, then you do the actual baking to make the cake. When it is all done you leave it to the side to cool down before sharing it out or keeping it for an occasion. Throughout the process you entered into different stages of making the cake. When it was done it was what you expected, a three layered cake for example. See the process in life as a three layered cake the outer layer is you entering the process, the second layer is the tests and obstacles you will face and the third layer is you overcoming those tests in victory to receive your blessing and excel to another level with His protection.

Those are your three layers all serving a different purpose (different tests = the different flavours of the cake and its outer layers = the covering of God / covering of the whole cake) That cake was made to perfection because you took the time out to carefully execute what you wanted to make in your mind, and what you planned to get is what you received in the end. Your hard work making the cake came out nicely and more so because you had the help of The Most High to help you deliver an exceptional cake.

The point I am making is that you can’t expect to under deliver and receive back great results, because it is what you put in that you will get out of the process. It won’t just fall on your lap, you have to go get it and pray and The Most high will surely guide you.

In life no matter what it is there is a process, from nursery up to higher education there are processes, tests, lessons and obstacles you will have faced along the way. You didn’t always get it right the first time and the path was long but today you have finished and in the adult world whether still studying, working, married with or without kids. It was all a step by step process. For those who may have rushed it or dropped out, they are now trying to get back in the system to complete things, or aren’t where they thought they would be and are looking back almost in a state of regret.

‘…nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.’

It does not matter how you start in life but what matters is how you finish, the process you pass through to make it to the finish line. Human might alone cannot help you win the battles in life. Along the way you need The Most High, and not to rely on man alone.

There is indeed a race but it is the time you are given and how you apply wisdom to it that determines the outcome. You cannot afford to waste time; time waits for no man. So do the things you said you will do today!!! Because tomorrow isn’t promised and you want to be able to look back proud at the time you used to achieve rather than ask what if?

You will fall down and make mistakes, you are not perfect, but you must get back up and continue that is where your inner strength comes from. Because when it is all said and done it is your actions that matter and you will be held accountable for them. To the swift and strong, the wise, understanding, and skilful; or to the swift and slow, to the strong and weak, to the wise and unwise; everything will happen at The Most High’s timing, just as He has ordered it to be.

‘But time and chance happeneth to them all.’ For there is a certain “time” fixed by the Lord for every event in our lives. But it is when you move without Him in assuming your time to do things has come and act on own instinct, this will not become attainable to The Most High. Whatever that happens in life is a result of His doing, making it possible to let it happen not us.

So nothing is by chance in life, but by His movement signifying the change to progress into something greater. We have divine appointments with Him and He leads us in all that we do that is how we are assured that we will never fail.

Always remember that our lives are in His hands and we are not to run from the truths that can break all the self ideologies of man saying we can make it alone

Bless you all

Ecc 3:1-9 'To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?’

One of the things I love about this scripture is that it clearly defines that in life there is a time for everything to happen, just because it may not have happened for you yet doesn’t mean it is not going to happen. Because it will, just at The Most High’s set time because He has predestined what will happen, He knows your capabilities and when you will be ready to receive what He has for you but not before.

He will not make things happen if you aren’t equipped and immature spiritually, He would rather you grow more and are ready to receive it so you don’t misuse what He blesses you with.

It’s not that there is anything wrong with you and you shouldn’t allow anyone put you down to make you think there is. You see in the midst of the test there are disguised blessings and it is always worth the wait, so let them doubt you and pressure you, but when God decides to elevate you their mouths will be silenced.

God created us all to be unique, filled with special gifts, different and set apart from others. With that said you will also realise and agree that we all have different set times, different purposes and ways to do things. I can make it today by the grace of God whilst others made it last year, last week, yesterday.. No two set timings are the same, but we can all learn from the ways of life and how God works to trust in His timing alone.

But don’t ever think that you are not doing enough, so long as you have faith in Him and pray and do your part and you will excel. Die to self and let God alone take control, like a compass directing you on where to go you will never miss your way.

We all have deadlines in life whether it is work deadlines; objectives to meet you name it. One of the sensitive areas is marriage where people will place a deadline upon your life and say by such age you should be married, they are mere humans placing their limits on you and you are not confined to the deadline of man. But you are to follow God’s timing because He will not lead you astray, make you worry or doubt yourself.

The marriage didn’t go ahead, don’t worry God saw something you didn’t see… Your plan crumbled and you didn’t understand why, don’t worry Gods plan concerning your life is far greater. Keep the faith and keep on pressing on.

‘….a time to break down, and a time to build up..’

You can’t be strong all the time; there are times where you will feel discouraged, upset and feel pain as a result of experiences and people doing you wrong. As human beings we aren’t to ignore that these trying times will happen but it is how you cope with those times that matter. You can be strong for others, but doesn’t mean you are strong within for yourself, it doesn’t mean you are happy within; it doesn’t mean you are coping. That is okay and it is also okay to ask for help, pray and read God’s word to encourage you and keep you going no matter what.

But that is not to say you will be defeated by those upsetting times, it just means that you will develop and grow in your storms to be stronger and wiser. Giving up is never an option and delay is not denial, once you can remind yourself of this daily and The Most High’s promises to us, you will feel a sense of lightness and a burden lifted off your shoulders. We aren’t to live life as if we are in control but to live life with The Most High in control and helping us through.

I really love how Solomon expressed himself when writing Ecclesiastes, He makes it evident here that God does have a plan for each and every one of us, even when you were lost in the world He still had a plan for us and that plan will happen. He speaks about the cycle of life, where in each stage of our lives there will be problems which may make you doubt God, because you cant make sense of it, but that shouldn’t create any barriers to put up against God. Or to go against trusting Him, rather use these opportunities to realise that even in your pain God is still moving and will create opportunities for those who trust and hold onto Him, come what may. Without God, there are no solutions.

As it states there is a time for everything and all that we face is no mistake, they all take place at certain times for a reason and to fulfil a purpose in that season, never to punish as.

ECC 3:11

11 He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

God has put eternity in our hearts
