YOUR STORY - YOUR VOICE
YOUR STORY – YOUR VOICE
Dear Father,
Thank you for loving us, thank you for saving us, thank you for your patience and your grace and mercy which is renewed every morning. Father my prayer is that every person who reads this will be confident in you and re-surrender their all to you, to speak and be used to bring glory to your name. May all fear be cast out and courage and boldness come in. Through you we can do all things great and mighty. So help us Lord. In your name we pray. Amen.
I was speaking to a very close sister friend of mine recently; in fact we have had this conversation a lot, about this perception that to share your story, it has to have been overly deep, dramatic, toxic and soo heart-breaking. What I mean by this is that in our generation people only want to hear of stories of those who have been through abuse, severe pain etc. But for the people, who lost a job, a friend, suffered with eating habits etc they don’t want to know. Who made up this perception that God can’t use you if your story doesn’t involve abuse, rape etc?
That is such a sad and damaging way to think, everyone has a story and God intervened in their lives to save them and bring them to where they are today. Just because someone’s story may not match your perception of being overly immersed in pain, doesn’t mean that they should not share what God has done for them. What you look down on and see as small, the person may not see it that way. To them it was something worth sharing and encouraging others to draw closer to God.
DONT BELITTLE SOMEONE ELSE’S STORY BECAUSE OF YOUR TAINTED, CLOSE MINDED PERCEPTION OF THE STORIES ARE WORTH SHARING.
Who are you to say if someone’s story is worth sharing? How sad it is that it has come to this, where people feel comfortable to say such things which in turn don’t motivate people to share. In all things big and small God’s glory can shine through it.
So let us come together more in unity, to share our stories, encourage each other and pray for one another. No one should be made to feel left out because what they have been through doesn’t quite match what you expect. No one is exempt from sharing what God has done in their lives, that was their struggles and you have your struggles too. What we all have in common is our love for God and that He saved us all from something.
JEREMIAH 1:5-
“Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
This scripture shows the importance of each and every one of us, before He formed us in the womb, God already knew us and everything we would do and become and the things we would pass through. He consecrated us and appointed us a prophet to the nations.
God knew who you were going to become, He knew you would be great, but also knew what your story would be that would help others. It doesn’t say that someone has to have been abused, to be used by God. There are no requirements, because everyone’s story is different and no two people will feel and experience the exact same thing. Everyone has different paths to take, different decisions and lifestyles. But it is not down to any of us to judge someone’s past.
YOU –
- YOU ARE YOU AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE LIKE YOU- THAT IS YOUR POWER.
- YOU LOOK DIFFERENT
- YOU SOUND DIFFERENT
- YOUR PURPOSE IS UNIQUE TO YOU
- YOUR STORY IS WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH. TAILORED TO YOU, SO SHARE IT WITH BOLDNESS
So regardless of what people say there are people out there you are called to, who need to hear your story.
Be blessed and encouraged
God bless you all
