REVELATION FROM A TREE

JOHN 15 - JESUS THE TRUE VINE

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

On my way out a few mornings ago to see some clients, I was stuck in a bit of traffic and looked to my right and God began to speak me using the trees. The revelation was so deep and sweet and will share with you all. He began to show me the importance of the way the trees operated in the seasons and how important it was for the trees to have their branches, but yet all look different – when He said different He went on to talk about the roots being the same, they all need to be rooted in the soil to receive the nutrients and for those of us who paid attention in science class lol- will know the process of the roots – nutrients – photosynthesis and all.

The branches on the trees differed from tree to tree – some were completely bare with no leaves, some had leaves and others had different coloured leaves. But yet they were all still trees- we wouldn’t look at them and say that because some don’t have leaves that they aren’t trees, that wouldn’t make sense. With this I began to see that even though they all had a different amount or nothing at all they were all blossoming but at different stages and so the outlook wouldn’t always match each other. Whilst some are bare, some are full, yet whilst some are small in vine, others are wide and thick in vine.

REFLECT-

How do you portray yourself?

What is your character like?

Yet they are all still known as trees and to place this analogy with human beings – to you someone may look average, but you do not realise what they carry and what they can do, God is taking them on a journey and it may not be obvious to the natural eye – but their set time to blossom is coming, whilst the set time for their neighbour is now. We all have different set times, no two times are the same but you are not disqualified just because you haven’t blossomed yet, it just means your journey is different to your neighbours.

That is why it is not wise to compare to other human beings, because no matter what you will not be like them and they will not be like you. It is important to not let the cares of this world and ungodly desires make you compare yourself to another imperfect human being and then get frustrated when things don’t work out for you, in terms of you not getting what they have.

What you look like – how you sound – the way you do things and how you think is different to the next person so when you try to compete you are already losing and doing disservice to not appreciating and valuing who God has called you to become. BUT what we do all have in common is that we are all rooted in Christ and this alongside another powerful thing, that when you look at the trees you notice that they are close together – the distances aren’t that great or wide and so how are you with others? Are you close to them? Do you support them, love them and shine together as well as trying to shine alone? How are you in community?

Such a powerful point to take away, though the trees all looked different, blossoming at different times they still all had close proximity to each other. Being close would mean no competition, no envy, but growing and thriving amongst each other with no ulterior motives.

So check your ways, is it more of self or more of helping and supporting others?

Be blessed as you read this and know that inward change is key and your outlook on life.

GOD BLESS
